Tools, instruments, and methodologies for improving aid effectiveness at the national level
You're here >>

Methods for improving aid effectiveness at the country level are evolving rapidly.  There is now a wealth of tools, instruments and methodologies available to assist partner countries and their development partners achieve their aid-effectiveness goals.  This section of the Portal offers practitioners ready access to this toolkit.

In some areas, there is a value to standardised tools and approaches.  For example, countries and donors are moving towards standardised methodologies for assessing country financial management and procurement systems, in support of the Paris/Accra goal of greater use of country systems.  In other areas, these tools are only guidelines that need to be adapted to country conditions.

In this section, we offer brief introductions to the different tools, with links through to practical examples of the tools in operation at country level.
