This web portal aims to support policy makers and practitioners who are working to increase the effectiveness of aid and its contribution to development in their countries. It grows out of work done by governments, civil society representatives, and development agencies over recent years, including the 2006 Asian Regional Forum on Aid Effectiveness hosted by the ADB, and the Asia-Pacific consultations on the Accra High Level Forum which took place in Bangkok, Thailand and in Nadi, Fiji in 2008. These consultations were attended by 24 countries from across Asia and the Pacific during April and May, and were made possible with the support of the ADB, the European Commission, UK DFID, Government of Japan, UNDP Regional Centre in Bangkok and the World Bank.
www.AidEffectiveness.org provides information to support country level preparations on the 9 thematic Round Tables that will take place in Accra (2-4 September 2008). The portal provides links to websites and resources for all countries that have signed the Paris Declaration in the region.

The portal includes a page dedicated to discussion of the drafts of the Accra Agenda for Action. The Discussion page will provide summaries from the on-line debate and allows you to sign up to participate.

If you have any comments or suggestions, please do contact us. We welcome your feedback, suggestions of additional resources to include, or corrections, and we hope that the portal will provide practical support to colleagues across the region. Our thanks to all the organizations whose resources are featured or linked to here.

This web portal does not represent the views of any individual or institution. It has benefited from the contributions of many. It is updated by colleagues at the UNDP Regional Centre in Bangkok.
