EFFECTIVE AID MANAGEMENT
UNDP REGIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMME IN ASIA PACIFIC
The UNDP Regional Centre Bangkok has initiated the development of an aid management training programme for the Asia and the Pacific region. This training programme will contribute to the following goal – Government officials and politicians are aware of aid effectiveness best practice and have the leadership, management and technical skills to manage effective aid partnerships. The programme seeks to contribute to capacity development which enables key partner officials in the region to understand better the context in which aid is provided and managed, the opportunities that they have to implement the Paris Declaration and influence the Accra HLF outcomes, and to help reinforce their ability to manage and lead aid relationships.
At the January launch of the 2008 Aid Effectiveness Survey many of you expressed strong interest in high quality aid effectiveness training. We will be rolling out the pilot training after Accra. In October, 3 countries will send 8 senior level colleagues from government to take part in the Regional Executive Peer Exchange Programme (Repep).
In November 2008 Country-Specific Training Programme (Course Outline) (25 participants from one country) will take place. We share the outlines of the modules for both courses on this website.
Have we got it right? What are your priorities for Aid Effectiveness training? Do the learning outcomes in the course outlines reflect what you need to know? Does the course assume too much knowledge or is it not challenging enough? Would your country like to take part in 2009?
Give your feedback on the course outlines by replying to this email ap-aideffect@groups.dev-nets.org. If you wish, use the 'Track Changes' feature in Word to make your comments directly in the course outlines, and send them back to us.
