Knowledge Management and Helpdesk: Connecting people to knowledge
Access to knowledge and expertise is a crucial ingredient in the efforts of countries to achieve development effectiveness. Given the ever-increasing arsenal of tools publically available, CDDE embodies a “less is more” approach, and makes carefully selected resources and guidance far easier to access.
The Facility provides: (I) a knowledge management portal, AidEffectiveness.org, with cutting-edge aid effectiveness tools and resources, including short summaries of key principles and evidence, a calendar of events that members may wish to attend or to influence; and (ii) a rapid-response Help Desk, based in the CDDE Secretariat, faciliting E-discussions and giving tailored responses to country questions, including Guidance Notes where requested on particular topics, such as the role of parliaments in promoting development effectiveness.
In addition, the CDDE Secretariat produces a quarterly newsletter [link to page] to update AE CoP members on upcoming opportunities to participate in regional and international events and provide a space where partners can advertise for expressions of interest in aid effectiveness initiatives and consultancies. Experts from both public and private sectors are invited to provide summaries of innovative work that they are undertaking.
